How Obama was burned on wood

Image
I was touched by the success of Obama 4 years before as the first African American to reach the White House. Few months before he was able to repeat his triumph. His tweet " Another four years sky rocketed in twitter. I have no interest in politics, I am not an American after all. Yet i was inspired by the story of the man. In this project I used the Pyrography / wood burning to burn the Obama's face on the wood!! Funny as it sounds but i enjoyed it so much I recorded the steps from the copying of the face using carbon/graphite paper through the painting of the wood till finishing the piece. It took me two days to finish this piece. You can watch the video at: http://youtu.be/NHTfd2qVIB

An awesome collection of woodburning collection

Image
This video shows 8 woodburning / pyrography projects The animals specially the predators are the subjects of all the pieces The drawings is so live and appealing The nature of the wild animals make it more vivid and mysterious. I really was taken by the mix of painting and pyrography in the wolf piece, the mix between wood carving and pyrography in the second wolf piece. The touches are very accurate. The pictures were not copied to wood using carbon or graphite which make it more difficult for the pyrographer. By the end I should refer to the artists channel that I have subscribed to it to see future piece. http://www.youtube.com/user/erikbrushEnjoy it :)

How to transfer a pattern to wood using ironing technique ?

Image
An important step for any pyrography creation process is the copying of the pattern to the wood i use the simple carbon / graphite copying technique but how about other techniques? in this video the pyrographer uses a very easy technique to transfer his pattern from paper to wood simply by ironing the paper with its face down to the wood the good thing about it that the full details are copied which will make the burning step more and more easy yet some pyrographers may find it less appealing since they need more room for their talent to be expressed and added to the original patter however it so nice and easy especially for beginners enjoy it
